Commemorative "Collector's Special First Day Only" Cancellation issued by the U.S. Postal Service Lincoln's New Salem-Springfield Post Road Cancellation February 12, 1976 with historical inserts by Dr. Wayne Temple All of the commemorative envelopes feature a special artistic cachet by the late international Lincoln artist, Lloyd Ostendorf. All of the cancellations used by the U.S. Post Office, except the Lindbergh cancellation, were created by the late Lincoln artist Lloyd Ostendorf.
