Lincoln Memorial Gardens
75th Anniversary

The 2011 Springfield City Ornament celebrates the 75th anniversary of Lincoln Memorial Garden. The ornament issued by Saint Joseph's Home depicts a landscape unique to Lincoln Memorial Garden ­ one of the almost three dozen white oak benches found throughout the Garden. These benches are inscribed with Lincoln quotations and invite visitors to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Garden. Many of these benches are located along the GardenÕs lakeshore and are often shaded by a white flowering dogwood.

The initial design was a collaboration of several members of the Illinois Prairie Pastel Society (IPPS). Janice Chan, a local artist and IPPS member, created the final design with ongoing input from the Garden's ornament design committee and SJH's development office.

Each 24-karat gold-plated ornament comes in a green velvet-lined box and includes a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity. The ornament will be produced in a limited edition of 5,000 pieces.
